JP called and will probably have to stay on an extra day or so in Norway as they are taking advantage of his being there for some contract deal or whatever.
I should have known when he left that it wouldn't go to plan.
He then has the nerve to just now on the phone get on my case that I am not planning on having alcohol at my baby shower.
No alcohol for two reasons...
1. The shower is at 11 am
2. I can't have any so not fair ain't happening
Not to mention that seriously? booze it up at a baby shower? Can't go a couple of daylight hours on a Saturday without a drink?
Of course JP comes down hard over something he has no clue about and is totally stupid... he then does his typical back pedal of "Well I don't give a shit, it's your shower, it has nothing to do with me..."
My husband... King of the Dillweeds.

Another visit down...
Had a doctor appointment late this morning at the new location. They are still working the kinks out of the new place & equipment.
They did have enough up and running to accept my lump payment. Ha. Usually how it goes right.
She did a quick scan, mostly because it's a new machine and she says I'm easy to scan. Everything looks great she says and there was/is clear sign of baby "breathing" which she says is a sign of great health. =D Baby was very active and did not appreciate the doc pushing with the wand.
JP left yesterday for his week and half long trip. He's currently in London having finished the first of three training sessions. He should be in Aberdeen by Wednesday if it all goes to plan.
So yeah I'm back for a full afternoon, which I guess is a good thing with the office move. I just didn't want to deal with Bissonnet and 610 after 3:30.
ah well... back to work. I didn't get to do much this moring between the meeting and the appointment.

Why does this week drag so?
Maybe it's having Monday off... I don't know. I just know it feels like such a loooong week.
For a couple of weeks now we have been set with JP taking a week and half long business trip to London, Aberdeen, and Norway. His direct boss has really been pushing for it knowing that I'm due April 2nd, but in typical boss fashion... not really caring.
Well, evidently JP was talking to a VP he works closely with on some project or another and this trip came up. The VP went to JPs boss and was all concerned about JP getting pressured to travel "so close to the end." And suddenly JP's boss is all concerned and telling JP he doesn't have to go now, but can postpone to later in the year.
So we were both torn. He doesn't want to travel after the baby is born and he really doesn't want to miss anything... and I guess because he was pre-mature he's already freakin' out now with, "What if you go early?!"
SO we decided better to stick with the plan and have him go. Plus it'll give his push backs come March that much stronger for the Denver project. Hello it's called teleconference!
When I saw the doc last week she said I'm very very low risk for pre-term and with as cautious as she is I take that as gospel. I told JP that at least I'm seeing the doc while he's gone, I'm working the full week, it's the weekend of the baby shower, so really I won't be on my own. I also promised if I had a rough night I would go into work late, if at all, and if I wasn't feeling well I'd go to my parents house for the night.
But really, I think the doc is right and nothing is gonna happen early.
Go me, I already walked my mile today.

That old holding pattern...
Nothing really new and exciting going on.
We had our usual sort of Valentine's Day. It's a difficult day for JP so we just get food, typically from Liebman's, and just stay in. Not unlike most of our Sunday nights except Liebman's is fancy food.
We also met some friends for dinner at The Yard House on Saturday. Cool newish/redone area of Town & Country/Memorial. Interesting night.
Now it's back to work and the same ol' schedule. I did manage to get connected sleep last night so that feels better. But connected sleep also means all that time on my left side and my left hip is not happy. *sigh* I think I'll take the sleep.
This weekend will be busy... if I make it to everything. I might have to bow out of Maria's shower. We'll see. I reserve the right to take care of me.
Not much else going on... whatever the office drama is I've fallen way outside of it. As much as I'm afraid to give up this job, I know I'd be spending way to much money to get here and to dress for it, not to mention child care. Oh if only American work life were more female & family friendly. Oh well.

Two classes down...
JP and I finished our hospital classes. Birth Readiness (Can you really be ready?) and Newborn Care (avoid the cord stump!).
JP was way more freaked out than me. But I've actually had to deal first hand with all the doctors since before getting preggers. He came away trying to lecture me about a few things and I had to set him straight. I told him 1) I'm not an idiot and 2)I've been dealing just fine for 8 months with lectures from EVERYONE I wasn't gonna take it from him.
Boys say stupid things way to often.
Best part for me was the explanation of all the possible drugs you could have depending on what was going on. My plan is to avoid sedatives, maybe an analgesic, and for certain an epidural.
The nurse whipped out an epidural needle and the young Moms to be all gasped and you could see they were rethinking things. I instantly thought of the amnio needle and snorted... ain't nuthin'. So good to know I'm not scared of that.
I will say that education nurse was HILARIOUS. Just awesome.
Last night, JP again was taking notes furiously on giving a bath and changing diapers. I had to laugh as he's all freaked about changing diapers. No worries, he's not getting out of doing his share. I explained to him, "You will be my only relief most days... so think of it that way, I NEED your help." Hopefully he'll fully step up to that plate.
Today is my Office Friday followed by a Four Day weekend. Excellent. I have lots of little things to line up and take care off. Need to try and make a list so I know what all I have to do.

You know when...
you are at a party or a dinner or any gathering of two or more and you sit there on your iPhone or Blackberry updating FB, Twitter, or just texting... you are being a RUDE and UNENGAGED INDIVIDUAL.
You are basically saying, "Though you are physically standing infront of me I can't be bothered to actually engage with you in society."
You are basically saying you have no skills at in the flesh social interaction.
More and more when I go out I'm seeing this or on the recieving end of it. Disgusting and RUDE.
I can understand if you are waiting for something from work, but set the thing to chime don't check it ever 5 seconds. Or if you have a baby sitter... again set it to chime and steady of constantly checking to see if you miss it. Set in on the table... you hear it chime or light up or whatever the heck it does.
ANd seriously don't talk to me on the side while you are messing on that thing. Obviously you are engaged in something much more important that conversation in real time.

Heart not into it...
Work just keeps getting harder... I'm less and less inclined to do it, and things are slowly (very slowly) starting to pick up.
At least it's mostly prelim work. By the time this stuff goes to production it'll be summer at the earliest. So I'm not that worried about not completing a set up or the like. It's most research questions and that sort of thing.
Go me I found a maternity dress for only $30. Now I have something for the Sweetheart dance. For $30 I don't care that I'll only wear it once. Feb is busy with classes, Rodeo, the dance, Maria's shower etc... Friday's off will for certain be pj days.
A new girl started yesterday. Forget her name, and I don't know if it's the usual she's working part time while getting her law degree or what.
Ah well... better get to work on this research for an angry blob of siblings. This is what happens when parents play favorites in their will... kids spend the rest of their lives getting angry and threatening to sue. So fun.
And I heard The Hurt Locker was nominated along with Bigelow. Awesome! I didn't see all the movies this year, but I will say that The Hurt Locker was the best film I've seen this year and for a war movie it was hands down the best I've seen period, and I don't say that because it's a female director. I didn't know a woman directed it until geez... months and months after I'd seen it.
I won't spoil it for anyone reading who hasn't seen it... but there is a scene where the main guy Renner is stateside and standing in the cereal aisle at a grocery store... haunting.

Gettin' a little too friendly there...
Okay, for some time now total strangers have tried &/or accomplished rubbing my belly.
Why?!
I can understand my friends doing it, and most ask and if you ask I'll probably say yes because you're my friend.
Random lady in the bathroom.
No.
Server at last night's Mexican dinner. (Who also kept "leaning" and telling me how pretty I was).
Hell NO.
Random guy, not over the offical grandpa age, out and about.
Hell to the NAW!
OMG!
What happened to my supposedly prickly personality that kept people at a distance? Heck... I never even touched my own sister's belly and I'm getting randoms. Well, I did love to put my feet on my sister's feet while she was pregnant... they were so WARM! But I think I only did that once.
Mental note, don't sit in "Susie's" section if possible. *sigh*
