Another goodbye...

My Dad's buddy Tucker had to be put down on Saturday morning. Tucker was my Dad's baby as he saw Dad as his SAVIOR. Dad found him at Special Pals some months after they bought DeeDee (not how her name is spelled but...yeah).

Tucker was a sad little story. He was severely abused by his original owner from the Austin area. Because of the abuse he was not a healthy dog in the seven years my Dad adopted him. I'd say maybe the first couple of years with Dad were his best.

During all that time Tucker only wanted Dad and had no time for anyone else. Dad even gave up his season tickets to the Symphony, something he loved, inorder to have enough cash on hand to take care of Tucker's many medical needs. Mom and I joked that Tucker had these lovey looks for Dad as if he was telling him, "Just you and me, Dad... that's all we need." Very much captured by this picture:

What I know is that Dad woke up really really early on Saturday to find Tucker having a seisure of some sort... They took him to the emergency clinic and knew that it was time to let him go. He could no longer walk on his own and that meant no quality of life. You couldn't even pet Tucker which out him yelping believing that pain was coming due to all his nerve damage from the on going illnesses.

Tucker is being cremated, not sure what they'll do with the ashes... but the place also took an imprint of his paw for Dad to keep.

Goodbye Tucker, you were a funny little guy and you gave Dad much joy.
